Christien and I were in High school together. In 2009 myself, Christien and our friend Ilza went to Umhlanga for Christien’s birthday. It was in that time that I fell in love with my now husband.
7years later the 3 of us found ourselves in the same area celebrating Christien’s Wedding. I was the photographer for the day and Ilza her maid of honour. This was not your typical wedding at all. We did all the family photos and most of the couple photos before the actual ceremony. The bride and groom walked down the isle together where Christien’s mom married them. During the ceremony each guest had to have a drink in hand for a toast and sparkles (or fuzzies as my friend Ilza calls them) were lit during the thumb print process. After all of this the bride and groom enjoyed some time with their guests and then we went down to the beach for a quick few photos. I have to also just add that the bride made her own wedding dress!
This wedding will forever be close to my heart. Christien and Mynhardt, thank you for choosing me to capture your special day…
PS. Would you believe that this pretty bride did not really want photos on the beach…and look how pretty those images are:-)
